MR. LLOYD GEORGE.

LIBEL ACTIONS SETTLED.

AN AIR RAID INCIDENT.

(Reuters Telegrams.)

(Received Oct. 17, 5.5 p.m.) London, Oct. 16.

In the High Court libel actions' brought by Mr Lloyd George against the Exchange Telegraph Company, the "Westminster Gazette," and the "Star" were settled, defendants apologising and paying costs.

The case arose out of the publication of a paragraph issued by the Exchange Company alleging that Mr Lloyd George left Downing street for the country when it was known that raiders were approaching. Plaintiff contended that this implied personal cowardice. He explained that he left London with military and naval leaders to attend a conference with tho French war chiefs.

All the defendants disclaimed that any imputation was intended.
