I A special mooting of the directors of the Permanent Building Society was held last aight for the "purpose of u>coiving accounts for the half-year end-<-d September 30th. The statement presented by the secretary showed a not amount of profit of £1685 7s 10d. It was resolved to declare profit for addition to share values at the rate. of o per cent, per annum, following the ■■custom of a long period. This absorbs £1340 10s lid, leaving a balance of £344 16s lid. Jfc wiis revived to add £300 to the i reserve fund, bringing, it up to £280 i/. I and carry £44 16s lid forward" to credit of profit and loss account. There are 9083 shares heid in. the society, and loans ci.Trent amoiuib to £114,945, the highest amount ou record. The total "of deposits with the. society is £4865 less than "at the end of the previous- half-year. The man-i agement hind showed* a very slight -increase of oxpoiulitui'c compared with the previous half-year. .
