Auckland, Oct. IG. At the Police Court to-day, (iuuner Charles Clements and Herbert McEntee were charged that they assaulted the Rev. Howard Elliott by striking him with a stick. The Court was crowded, and there waa hooting and; cheering when the defendants were call- j cd. The .Magistrate ordered the Court to bo cleared. Counsel for the defendants asked for an adjournment to obtain evidence from Wellington. The Court granted a remand for one week.
