NELSON LAND BOARD.

A meeting of tlie Nelson Land Board was held on Thursday, October llih. Present: Mr. F. A. Thompson (Commissioner), and Messrs. Baigent, Bell'and Patterson.

From \Y. S. Flowers, asking to have capital value reconsidered on" account; of poor quality of land and largo amount of fencing required.—Capital value to remain as fixed by the Board.

From R. L. Kearns, offering to take over part of the area refused by T. Kearns.—Declined, no area available. From F. L. Newman, asking for more permanent tenure so that ho might improve same.—Declined.

I'rom L'nder-Secretary for Lands, re application for remission of rent by E. H. Burnett on section 2, block xvi, Maruia .survey district.—Received, matter to be again referred to Minister.

I'rom Ranger Harris, recommending that tie loading of £25 on section 22, block v, Ti^.aki survey district, be taken off, as the improvements originally made are now of no value to an incoming tenant.—Approved, section to be re-offered with no loading for improvements.

From the Under-Secretary of Lands, re destruction of agricultural lands oy dredging.—Received. Mr. Harley, of Adams and Harley, asked for pormission to address the Board re obtaining the Board's consent to exchange an area of laud between Messrs. Gill Bros, and the Crown in order to obtain a better road line, and that area between the. new road and education reserve 35 be purchased from Messrs. Gill Bros for £25. —Previous resolution adhered to, that, the Board regrets it. .has no funds available for paying the above compensation.

"'••Din the Undcr-Secretary of Lands, asking for a report as to the action u-e .'-.iKirci intends to take with regard to the settlement of Te Ilaetihi and Te Mapou blocks, vested in the Nelson Land Board under section 12 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, and amendments.—Report to be obtained for the next meeting of the Board.
