SUBURBAN NORTH ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the hoard was held on Friday last at the hail Wakapuaka. Present; Messrs W. H. Alborou.riJ (chairman), A. Dodson, B F Weller an? F" S^ Frost- Messrs Joh'll Corder and A Stagg were granted ler.ve of absence. Accounts were passed for :»:i\nient amounting to £10 Ss 9d. The Overseer, Mi E. -Jill, reported, that he had had the Cable I-av road repaired by patching and watertaoles cleaned out in a few bad places. Two days work had been done on the Wangamoa road, and one day on Turid's \ alley road. He recommended the board to have the road formed up the Men Valley, and reported ' tt-at tho daymen s terms would expire next month.
4 The Lands Department wrote regarding thirds accrued amounting to £2 15s yd, tor scheme of expenditure it was resolved that the C!eu roa* formation be 'eft in the hands of tho Uverseer to get tiic work -lone. It was resolved to invite."applications for dayman and teams at the following rates of pay:—Fur man, 9s per day; for cart, Is per day; for each •horse used, 3s 6d per day/ making 17s tor a two-horse team and man, and J3s od for a one-horse team and man. It was resolved to renew the piesent accident insurance policy lor daymen with Messrs W. Rout and Sons as last year.
