NELSON HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. MR NEALE ELECTED CHAIBMAN. fru .11 June 7. _!he monthly.meeting of the Nelson' Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was hold yesterday. Present: Messrs T Neale, C. KLFelt. E. S. Hoult, G. Macmahon, G. H. 'Allan, hnd Mrs Watson. The secretary announced that since the last meeting_ their chairman' (Mr Thomas-Belly had passed away, and the board would require to elect another chairman. Mr Macmahou, while regretting the necessity of electing a chairman owing to the death of their late colleague, had inucli pleasure in proposing Mr Neale, who, no considered, would fiU the office with credit to himself and the board. Mrs Watson seconded the motion. ■Mr HcHjlt proposed Mr Fell, but the nommation -was not seconded, and Mr Neale was elected. Mr'Macmabon said that he had spov ken to Mr Fell, and he had declined to acoo.pt-nomination: On taking the chair. Mr Neale ex"T'leßsed thanks for his election, and said that with the indulgence of members, lie would do his best for the board. He expressed his extreme regret that there should' have been any necessity for electing another chairman, as lie know the. worth of the lato. Mr Bell.
