NEW POSTS RE-ESTABLISHED

TREMENDOUS GERMAN EFFORT.

A correspondent at Headquarters says that the Germans made the litmost effort to regain the initiative.

In the morning they heavily attacked the British positions on the Scarpe northwards to the railway.

The British mostly retrieved yesterday's loss at Bullecourt, re-establish-ing the new posts westward after the recent battle.
