Mr Massey, in acknowledging the presentation of the Freedom of Cardiff, said New Zealand's exports had grown enormously, but- she was handicapped by lack of shipping. If frhips. were .available she could land in London milEons of pounds of butt-er, chcose and meat. The British Government should secure stocks. Sir Joseph Ward, speaking at the Cold Storage Association's luncheon, i referred to the difficulty of shipping sneat, but said that New Zcalandersi ■did not complain. They were ready toj |>ut up-with inconvenience and loss, in \ order to help to secure victory and en-j sure freedom. He wanted to impressj upon the people here and overseas $he^ valuable .lesson learnt from ;the wiar, j which bad provided u« with new mar-; fects for frozen produce.
