•'.•■ Mr Balfour met the Senate, and was warmly greeted. He referred to the British trials in the early days of the war, and declared that every American man and woman would re quire to throw into the scale, on the 6ide of justice all his or her efforts in order that-the cause of right might prevail.
A loan of £20,000,000 to assist France has been completed.
