Eierce fighting lias continued at Eresnoy and Bullecourt. The British were compelled by heavy counterattacks to withdraw from the former village and the adjoining wood. The Scottish troops are in touch with the Australians at Bullecourt. There is considerable artillery activity on the whole of the Erench front. A few counter-attacks proved fruitless. Intermittent artillery and raiding activity is reported from the Russian western front Lord Devonport, the Food Controller, in the House of Lords gave a reassuring review of the food outlook at Home. There are further reports of impending political sensations in Germany.
