STRIKE PROMOTER CONVICTED

Dunedin, April 23. Alfred William Coleman, a miner from Runangji, who was arrested iast week in the.Green Island district, on a charge of inciting a seditious strike, and remanded, appeared at the Police Court this morning. The prosecuting counsel said that the police in Dunedin, becoming aware that the accused (who had recently come' from Runanga, where a-strike had 'been in progress for is(-me.time) intended to hold a meeting at Green Island, a detective and a constable wont to Fairfield, where they saw the accused and four other men enter the local sehoolhouse. The1-.■ accused addressed them, and as a result of what he said he was arrested.
