A SUGGESTION.

(To the Editor of "The Colonist.") Sir,—l beg tjo suggest that colleges and State schools consider the present difficulty of labour at tho Jam Factory —jam is wanted for our boys at the front—and that they grant, say, a fortnightly half-holiday, and the teachers in turn take their pupils t;o work, v not overlapping—one school one day and another on a different day. Surely they could not do better while the press of the fruit season is on. Fruit won't wait. Yours, etc., , A MOTHER. !
