Alter sitting from 10 a.m. on Saturday to L3O a.m. on Sunday, a conference of Dominion representatives completed a full settlement of all points in the typographical dispute. The wages o£ linotpye newspanetime operators are to be increased by a war bonus of 10 per cent, on the minii?l" m wage, subject to an output ot i /oJO. Other operators and handworkers are to rocen-e a war bonus of*6s weekly on the minimum v. age. Tiie jrestrictions on apprentices, .and probationers learning machines are to be removed. The proportion of machint apprentices is to be increased. Women | workers at present employed are to' hv exempted from the award. Piece rates are to be on solid only 3£d up to 6pomt, 3-Jd up S-point. 3sil up to 9-point {and 4d up to 10-point. The nripulation {division in' the hand .section is to bo \altered from 2-oQO to 5000, the latter to include the whole industrial district ot Vestland. The overtime rate in botii sections is to be time and a third, but in the hand section double alter three hours. . Preference' to employers as well as to. men _ irs to be inchided, and returned soldiers partially disabled are to be added to undor-ratc workers. An excttllent-feeling was displayed on both sides, and the conference "closed with-'mutual expressions -of good-will.
