STARVATION OF BRITAIN.
TO BE EFFECTED IN A FEW
MONTHS
POPULAR' BELIEF IN GERMANY
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association)
(Received Feb. 11, 5.5 p.m.)
Berne, Feb. 10.
Travellers from Germany, state that it is a reversal article of faith that England will be reduced to starvation in three or four months, and that Germany need only hold out for that period. It is admitted that it is possible that America could save England by escorting food convoys if time permitted, but it is- too late now.
Apparently the people of Germany are carefully taught this creed.
