Wellington, Dec. 22. The High Commissioner has for "warded to the Government the following message from the- Quecu of the Belgians:—"The Queen is much touched with the evidence of the sympathy oi' the. people of New Zealand, and delighted with the generosity they have showr> towards, our unhappy country. Will you kindly, in response to Her Majesty's wishes, convey an expression of her gratitude to the kind donors, and inform them that our Sovereign is happy to be tho intermediary between themselves and the victims of .the war."
