Post Office: Will observe a. close holiday. Mails usually despatched on Monday will close at 7 p.m. on Saturday, the 23rd inst. All receiving boxes will be cleared at o p.m. on the 23rd inst. There will bo no .letter-carriers' delivery on December 25th, but a delivery will be made over the counter from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on 23rd mst. Private Box Lobby Will, be open as on Sundays, viz., 9.30 a.m. to G. 30 p.m. Telegraph Orate: The Chief Telegraph Office will be open from 10 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. and from sto 5.30 p.m. Some of the larger offices will also open (sco Postal Guide). Country offices will not open.

Telephone Exchange: Will open from 9 to 10 a.m., and from 5 to 6 p.m. Mails: Special mails for Nelson-Riwa-ka lino and intermediate offices will close.at 3.15, p.m. on Saturda'v, December 23rd.
