Cablegrams in reply haVt been received "by Mr Allen from General Sir Alexander Godley, in command oi the Second Anzao Division, and from General Chayter, in command of the New Zealand troops in Egypt. General Godley. says: "On behalf of myself and the troops'l have the honour to command, I beg to send to you and the people of New Zealand our siiieere thanks for your message, which 'will hearten us to persevere until an honourable and lasting peace has been secured. Of ultimate success we feel assured Our thoughts will be with you on Christmas Day." lne text of General Oh ay tor's reply is as follows:—"Your cablegram : ha's been communicated to all ranks of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in Egypt, who heartily reciprocate the Christmas greetings and good wishes ■from our people at. home.
