The Government are very desirous to hold the Imperial Conference at the earliest possible moment, and negotiations are proceeding with the OverseasGovernments. The crux of the position appears to be the Comomnwealth's ability to send ■ delegates forthwith, New Zealand's representatives are on the spot,and little difficulty is apprehended ill securing the immediate attendance of Ministers from Canada, South Africa, and Newfoundland.; The Premier is expected to make a fiir-. ther early statement in the House of Commons.
