MOTUEKA.

The M-ptueka river (writes our correspondent) was in high flood on Sunday. The pile booms recently erected 'on the river bank at Wakarewa were washed away. Some of-the plies had been driven a depth'of 32ft. All these were, -washed out, and some of the older protective works uho. Several bouses in the lower parts of the borough had flood water through them. Parts of High street were under water, and the water was within a few inches of entering some of tho business premises.
