NELSON AND MARLBOROUGH CENTRE.

(From "Tho Colonist," August ].) The annual meeting of the Nelson and Marlborough Bowling Centre was held at the Nelson Bowling Club's rooms on Saturday afternoon, when Mr. J. i£. Allen (president) occupied the chair.

The followizig were also present, representing clubs:—Messrs. A. Gould, ii. S. Cresswell, A. C. Moore (Nelson), A. D. Burns (Blenheim), C. M. Whelan (Picfcou), T. lialdane (Takaka), A. Baigent tWakcfield). and R. W. Stiles (secretary) and S. F. Sherwood (trea3«rer).

Mr. T. Push (Wellington), of the Dominion Executive, was present by invitation.

...The -annual report presented by Mr. btiles covered the events of the" past season, and a^ special report by the Blenheim executive on the third annual tournament, held at Blenheim. It ivas reported that there.-were \till eight clubs in the centre, and that the membership was as follows:—Nelson 1.10, Blenheim 92, Malta! 70, Picfcon 30, Takaka 40. ,ttiversdalc 30.. Motueka 50,. The report regretted the laxity of some of the clubs in neglecting to send in returns, by $he speeihed tune, thus causing the centre to_ appear lax in the eyes of the Dominion Association. Tt was regretted that the whole of the clubs had not taken an interest in the centre tournament, but it was hoped this would be remedied at the next tournament. The interest taken in patriotic- efforts was noteworthy, and the bowlers .individually and "collectively had been responsible for raising a good sum. ... Ine treasurers-balance-sheet showed .hat last year's balance of £16 19s 5d bad increased to £22 4s Bd, and since the audit an additional-£2 13s 3d had been received, making the total credit 4.24 IV s lid. The report and balance-sheet • were adopted. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows.-—President.
