THE ZEPPELIN RAID.

NO CASUALTIES

SIX AIRSHIPS COUNTED

(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.)

London, August 1

Between 10 o'clock and midnight Several airships attacked the Eastern counties. Owing to their great height and mists the number is not certain, but at least six were counted. There

was probably a seventh, which did not drop bombs. The number of bombs has been greatly exaggerated, because they fell in thinly-inhabited districts and were heard for great distances. Sixty bombs have been found. Our aircraft and anti-aircraft guns' engaged the raiders. One was seen to drop to a low altitude and disappear in the mist.

The Press Bureau states that there were no casualties.
