sive in the first fifteen days of July 12,000 Germans were taken prisoner and 35 field guns, a naval gun, several large howitzers, and an enormous quantity of trench guns, trench cannor and munitions were captured. At leasi 21 aeroplanes were brought' down. Prisoners state that the Germar losses were so serious that they had tc call up twelve divisions which were rest ing in other sectors.
