MR HANAN'S SYMPATHETIC ATTITUDE.
(From Ouk Own Cobilespondent.) ' Wellington, July 28. The Hon. G. W. Russell, Minister in charge of Hospitals, was inteiviewed privately to-day by Messis H. Baigenx (chanman) and W. Lock, members of the Nelson Hospital ond^ Chantablo Aid Boaid, who were accompanied by ,the Hon. A T Maginnity, M LC, and Messrs T. A. H Field and R P. Hudson, M.P 's With legaid to the Nelson Hospital building question, Mr Russell piormsed ti consider points lai&ed by the deputation, and see if it would be possible zo allow the erection of that portion of the new building which would not be affected by^ the rise in the cost of certain mateiials
The Minister criticised the boaid's attitude and explained that or the Government.
The deputation also.saw the Mimstei of Education (Hon. J. A. Hanan)^ith refeience to the use of the Richmond Home aftei the Alexandia Homo fiie They said the boaid had been undei the impiG&sion that it could use the Richmond Home foi six months, but it new tind^rs-tood that the Department had only allowed its use for six weeks The Minister replied that whatever statement was made it was "not madeby the Education Department.
