it was decided 'to recommend the Land's Department to endeavour to find water on sections^ of land not watered by streams or springs, before such land was offered for settlement.
The conference discussed a remit urging tho Government to take more effective measures to prevent aggregation of innd. Most of the speakers considered the present legislation adequate. The president read a statement by Mv Mxss?y that there was already ample provision to prevent aggregation. The conference carried an amendment impressing satisfaction that there (are simple, powers to prevent aggregation of land whero desirable^ ■
Several remits were' adopted urging greater provision of land for returned soldiers.
