HAND-TO-HAND STRUGGLE IN POZIERES STREETS.

THE ENEMY REINFORCED.

Paris, July 24. There is an epic struggle at Pozieres. The Australasians are fighting terrifically on both sides of the village. The British attacked frontally. Hand-to-hand fighting continues in the streets and houses, which must be captured step by step. The village is a veritable fortress.

The Germans were strongly reinforced, and recaptured a portion of the

place
