A claim for 6s 8d for legal advice was heard by Mr J. S. Evans,'S.M., at the Magistrate's Court j-ostcrday. The' plaintiffs were Glasgow, Hayes, and Rout (for whom Mr Hayes appeared), and the defendant Arthur Mcilvee, who was represented by Mr Moore. For tho plaintiffs it was submitted that at; the time the defendant obtlained the legal advice he was chairman of directors of the -Tasman Fruit Lands, Ltd. 'Ihe attendance was charged the company, who rejected the account on the ground that it was not their affair. The account was then rendered to the' defendant, who denied that he had gone to the plaintiff's office for advice, but had only gone to their office to see an agreement that'Vas in their custody as solicitors for the company. After hearing evidence, several interesting legal points were raised, and the case was adi journcd.
