A communique states that an artillery battle continues on the Dwina. The Russians dislodged the enemy from the village of Jerben and fortifications southward.

In the vicinity of the confluence of the Styr and the Lipa,. they captured the passages of the Styr. ■

They captured fifty officers and 1600 men in a conflict in the Beresteczko region. .

Interest is developing in General Kuropatkin's front westward of Kemmern and Lake Babit. The Germans are being continually irritated by carefully planned raids, .but. are tmable to bring a single division to support the threatened positions.
