ANOTHER GERMAN ASSERTION.

ALLIES' OFFENSIVE ABANDONED

A German communique asserts that the Allies have abandoned their great uniform attacks on the Somme after their defeat on the previous day. It claims that the Germans captured many prisoners when they cleared the British out near Foureaux Wood.
