A RESULT OF THE WAR,

A saffrOn-tint in a newspaper has ur> to now been a badge of disrepute, but owing to the influence of the European war it is now being adopted by the staidest publications. It is not tho sorb cf yellow that betokens scurrility, however, but that of the paper on which tho news is printed. Many of our newspapers used to pride themselves on the whiteness of their paper. It was perhaps not so good for tho eyes of their readers as the old-time yellow, but it presented a much finer appearance Now their pride has had a fall, for.. gradually one after the other they arc coming back again.
