Christchurch, July 21. Michael Carey, charged with the murder of Frederick Allen in a street quarrel recently, was committed to tho Supreme Court for trial. Dunedin, July 21. In the Supreme Court, to-day, Walter Homy jNlarslin, for breaking, entering, and theft at Portobollo, was sentenced to five- years and declared nn habitual criminal.

Alfred John Mills, for committing bigamy at Christchurcli on July r 7th, received six months with hard labour.
