SPEEDY RESUMPTION EXPECTED

i In view of the British gains a speedy resumption o fthe advance to Peronne is expected, but there are considerable difficulties before the French, owing to the German defences based on the

marsh and canal on the lower and western .side of Peronne. The town consists of three parts; first, the Cathedral; second, tho Castle of Louis XL, and xhird, the cemetery.
