BOWLING.
WAKEFIELD CLUB
The annual general.. meeting of the Bowling Club was hold on Friday evening, and a large Dcrcentage of members wore present. The balance-sheet was read, and ii;ave very great satisfaction to members. The season had 'been a success financially, and tho Club was hhown to be out of debt.
The following officers were elected for the coming season: President, Mr Eban ; vice-presidents, Mr la-o Tunnicliffe and Mr A. Wilkinson-, secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Bird; committee, Messrs Eban, I. Tunnicliffe, A. Baigent. A. Wilkinson, and W. Bird, match committee. Messrs Bird, Wilkinson, and Baigent. The following- new members were elected:—Messrs R. Sutton (WakefieH), XV. A. Lightband and E. Duncan
(Brightwater). - A very welcome announcement. was made by Mr Wilkinson, that Mr W. Doe. of Nelson, had offered a cup to the Wakefield Club The cup will ho. presented to the Wakefield Club solely to encourage more matches being played at Wakefield by visiting rinks. Either one or two rinks from either Nelson, Mafrai, Motneka, or Takaka can challenge, Imt all matches must 'be played on tho Wakefield green. The Club unanimously accepted the offer, and 'a, hoa.i-.ty vote of thanks was passed to. Mr Dee for his generous gift.
It Avas resolved to <-ontimi<* tho Chami-)ionshi]> Singles. and to play Championship Pairs on i-lie-s-.v.rio linos as those adopted by the jVelsr)l! Club.
