j Among the' many expressions of svrr<pathy received by Mr and Mrs W.*H. [Robertson on the death of their only son, v,-ho was killed in action in Flankers on June 22nd, was one from the lato .soldier's immediate chief, Mr G. Fache. Commissioner of Pensions. Mr Facho wrote that tlie deceased was a most promising officer in his Department, and that had he been spared to le.turn to take -up his official duties he would have received promotion which ho had well earned.
The staff of Messrs Robertson Bros.. Ltd., made ,'ai presentation of some handsome articles of furniture to Mr Syvier J. Stewart, one of their number, on the occasion of his marriage Accompanying the presentation was a letter wishing the young couple every happiness and prosperity.
_ Captain Hammond has received official, advice from the Minister of Defence stating that his brother, Sergeant B. i. Hammond, had been wounded in the legs and arms and was admitted to hospital on the 6th inst.
