TUG-OF-WAR.
The tug-of-war to commence to-mor-row evening in conjunction witb<Paddy's Market promises to be a great success. Tlie entries were to have closed on Saturday night, but the time for receiving them has now been extended till 1 12 o'clock to-day (Monday). Up to: the -present 17 entries have been received, and the. committee expect at least, one or two more/teams to come in to-day. The officials to ..take full charge of 1 the contest .are .as follows: —Referee,. ,Mr F. Wrigglesworth; judges, Senior ' Sergeant Barratt and Mr D. Crushek; timekeeper, Mr G% Brown; clerks of scales, Messrs W. McGregor and L. 1 Ward; call steward, Mr W. Frank;; official recorder, Mr Patrick Keenan; 1 general supervisor, Mr W, J. Doyle. The staging is now ready, and rope and gear are available for any team desirous of practising. Mr A. K. Baxter has been appointed clerk to look after all drawings of teams. Tho following have- entered for.the contest:— Grenadiers No. 1. Grenadiers No. 2. Bombardiers No. 1. Fusiliers. Mental Hospital. Ireland Driven Carriers. . ■Kirkp a fciick's. Italy.
