Edward L Newport, who resides at Korere, was charged with failing to clear land 'at Belgrove owjied by him of gorse.

Mr'Wise'appeared for the defendant. Mr Melrose, Inspector, gave evidence that'the defendant had kept the road frontage clear, and a little work had been done on other parts of the- section, but gorso was spreading over the boundary fence, and the case was the worse because the adjoining property was likely to suffer through the default of the defendant.
