COUNTRY RACING CLUBS

The annual conference of delegates of country racing clubs was held at Wellington this week.

Tho balance-sheet showed-a credit bakmcu of £2 4s 9d.;^ '-!- Last year's officers were all re-elected. Should the Governmout issue any more racing day permits it was resolved that the Kaikoura Club should be "iveii preference.

Regulations controlling the admission of ixM-s^ns to race-moetings held by country clubs on public reserves, ' wer'a fully iliscussod (says the "Dominion"), it wns pointed out that in some oases people could not be put off the course and ovon policemen and stewards of clubs could not remove them. If certain regulations, as suggested by the president of the Racing. Conference, were carried, tho clubs would have all. the power'they wanted. On the motion •of Mr E. W. Alison the following resolution was carried:—"That the regulations for control of racecourses as ■.suggested by tho president of the New Zealand Radii-.!; Conference be approved."..
