The Aliens Commission opened a sitting at Dargaville to-day. Tho members _ are Mr J. W. Poyntou, S.M. (chairman), of Palmersto;: North, and Mr George Elliot, of Auckland. The chairman explained th'a-t the Commission avus sent to inqiu're into the alien question .

Police and other witnesses spoke favourably of the Austnans' behaviour, and did not favour their internment.
