FOR SOLDIERS IN HOSPITAL.
In connection with the concert arjfa.r.gfil by ?.Tisses Violet, Cheyne Fami*?and Graeo Cock, in aid of sick and wounded soldiers at the Nelson Hospital, the. total takings amounted to £19 11s 7d, and the expenses to £1 10s 7d leaving tlw vory creditable balance of £18 Is.
Lady Liverpool Fund workers are very pleased with the following parn-£>i-a'i)!i' from tlio report of t'he_ Minister i'or Munitions, which was laid on the table- of the House of Representatives recently. Under the heading of "Housewives and Holdalls," it says:— "I am pleased to report- in this connection that (Jii-ly this year 1 was able to come to a business-like arrangement with tho executive of the Countess of Liverpool Fund, whereby the committee- "ore. at fixed prices, supplying our requirements in those two articles — namely, 3000 holdalls and 3000 housewives "per month. Th.» organisation of the society is rnllv extended ever the North Island and partly over the South Island to meet this, demand. These goods ?.rv far superior in quality to those hitherto obtainable, and no failure in deliveries has been experienced.
