ALLEGED UNFAIR DISMISSALS.

[United Pivess Association.]

Auckland, July 11. The following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Auckland branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants to-night: "That this meeting expresses its conviction that two n: embers have been most unjustly victimised by being dismissed without sufficient cause, and without any opportunity of defending themselves; further, that they ha-ve been made scapegoats to cover up the failure of the Railway Department to provide adequate custody and supervision of goods traffic, while unprotected in the country districts, and while in transit. This meeting resolves: That the Department should be called upon to reinstate these men in their positions, or in the alternative to lay a definite charge against each, and to allow him the opportunity of defence comix on to all British subjects. This meeting firrther protests against the autocratic, arbitrary, and improper methods of management disclosed by this occurrence, and calls upon the Department to take such steps as will ensure a discontinuance of the same."
