THE SHARPSHOOTERS.
MEETING AT LOWER MOUTERE
On Tuesday evening last a meeting was held in the Lower Moutere Hall to meet delegates from the Motueka Committee. Mr H^ B. Sanders occupied the chair. Mr H. Everett explained the details of the scheme, as already published in' the press. Mr E. C. Little thought that considerable tact would have to be used in approaching people who were in a position to give, but did not feel inclined to meet, the canvassers when they called.
Mr Everett replied that tliesp cases would be left to the Barometer Committee. It was not within - the functions of the scheme to ostracise anyone. Mr T. J. Griffin said the first duty was to enrol members by selling: the buttons. A careful canvass would then be made by the committees. He also announced that if donors so desired payment could be extended over a period of two years.
After further discussion a committee was formed consisting of Messrs G. B. Cooper, E. C. Little, C. D> Flett, A. Reay, N. Drummond, E. A.-, Funnel, L. Leminer, and H. B. Sander's (secretary). Votes of thanks were conveyed to the visiting- delegates, special mention being made of Mr W. H. Mauder. for the use of his car.
