WAIMEA-PORT GRENADIERS.

The progressive euchre party held under the auspices of tho 'Waimea-Port Grenadiers at the Oddfellows' Hall last evening proved most successful. Some thirty tables were occupied, and a very enjoyable time was spent. The first prize for ladies, an eider down quilt presented by Mr Gribblo, was won by Miss Pentland, and the first prize for men —a trousers'progs—was won by Mr W. A. Dee. Mr Dee handed the prize back, and it was put up and sold twice, and then handed buck to the Grenadiers, to bo disposed of at some future date. Supper was then handed round, and after a dance, tho evening concluded 'with the singing of the National . Anthem.
