LAND FOR SOLDIERS.

Weljington, July 2. The Premier states that the Government: has bought 600 acres eight miles from Waorcnga Flat, Lower- Waikato. It is good dairying land, xiapable of being cut up into sections of from 60 to 80 acres. The Government lias also bought between .500 and 600 la-eres near Washdyke, Timaru, wl r-h he describes as some of the best land in South Canterbury. It can bo subdivided into 50 acre sections suitable for potato growing. The Government is negotiating for a dozen places in vaiioxis parts of New Zealand, -and landowners generally speaking are mooting the Gos-ornment reasonably with regard to terms.
