RETURNED SOLDIERS.

Three Nelson men • who returned to New Zealand by the Willocbra, reached here by the Pateeoa yesterday, namely, Sergeant Muntz, and Privates Cannington and Sinclair.

Sergeant Muntz was wounded in the body at Gallipoli, but ho has made good progress and looks well, and vas able to proceed to his homo at Upper Moutere. • ■

Private' Canning ton was c.gaged in ambailance work, and strained his heart. Ho is a cot c;iS3, and ias taken to the Hospital, the Ambulance Section of the National Reserve assisting. He was brought over in charce of Sergeant Adams, who was senior ajubulance man oil the Willochra.

Private Sinclair strained his side, and there followed on this attacks of pneumonia and pleurisy. He is risking good progress, and will lie an outpatient at the Hospital. He will stay with his aunt, Mrs P. Jameson, Harijpden street West, for a few days before returning to his homu at Motueka. The returning men were met; at the wharf and welcomed ;ionv> by members of the Nelson Sick a,nd Wounded Soldiers' Committee.

Private A. Harvey, who was wounded, and came back by the Athenic, arrived in .Nelson by the Pateena yesterday morning. He was met by members of the committee of the Sick and Wounded Soldiers' Fund, and the Motor Section of the National Reserve supplied a motor car and took him to his house at Wakapuaka. Private Harvey, who is one of three brothers who have gone to tho front, was wounded in tho head, and is sttU suffering from partial paralysis of one of his legs. Another of the brothers has also been r.vounded.

Private James Roith. who served for thirteen months on the Ypres front, returned to Nelson last week. When the war broke out he enlisted with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, but, being a British reservist, he was called up, and proceeded to England, where he joined his regiment. Except for being slightly ''gassed in the attack on Hill 60. Private Reith came through thirteen months' fighting unscatched, and. having served his full term in the Army, was <»isohiu"£.eil He is rt present an attenda'nfc at the Nelson Mental Hosmtal, but may possibly join one of the Reinforcement drafts.

Sergeant Charles Robert Rawlinjrs, who enlisted with the Main Expeditionary Force from the Tasman district and returned to the Dominion by the s.s. Willochra, is expected here in ».a day or'two (says the Motueka "Star"). It is worthy of note that Sergeant Rawlings landed with the Main Body at Gfallinoli and went through the whole of that campaign without'''suffering injury or a day's illness. He was preparing to leave Egypt for France with the "Anzacs," when he received orders to return to New Zealand, where, after two or three weeks' leave, he will re-enter Trentham camp as a commissioned officer.

Private Galland. Port Nelson (rheumatism). Trooper,R. J. Walker, Ferntown (shot in right arm), and Trooper Lirrton. Wakefield (shot thrdugh jaw and other wounds), who returned to New Zealand by the Tahiti, arrived in Nelson on Saturday moraine. Trooper Dnrrant (Motueka) also arrived .on Saturday, having come from Wellington by the Kaitoa.
