Wellington, April 1.4. The Hon. A. M. Myers, Minister for Pensions, furnishes the following.ffirg r ures for, the financial year ended IVfareh 31st; The gross payments under the Pensions Act amounted to £563,969, sh increase of> £23,919 on the previous year. Tho total was made up as follows: Old age'pensions, £479,339, widows'. £36,357; military £48,273. Pensions in-force on March 31st: Old ago, 19,800 (an increase of 450); widows,,. 1905 (an increase of 117)) ; military, 1323 (a decrease of 66). The amount paid tor miners' -pensions which camo. into force during the year was £140S on account of l'2O pensions, represent--jing an annual liability of £5445.
