Wellington, Jan. 28. At the opening of the annual meeting of the *New Zealand Institute the Hon. G. W. Russell said he realised! the great importance attached to the development oi scientific research m tho Dominion. One of the failures in this respect was due to a large- extent) to the insignificant part iuken in scientific work by the Dominion Museum.
