Mr. Wade, Claiming that the war time t.ruce was broken" by the Government putting up a candidate in a recent by-election, is attacking the Government. He declared that it had given the Norton Griffiths syndicate a.monopoly of construction of large public works for five years, borrowing from the syndicate ten million sterling at 5 per cent, interest, 5 per cent, commission, >nd 1} per cent, underwriting expenses,1 at A ■cost to the taxpayers of £2,400,000' during the five years.
