KING NICHOLAS AT ROME
A POPULAR, OVATION,

The "Daily Mail's" correspondent at Home reports that large crowds acclaimed the departure of King Nicholas. King Victor Emmanuel assisted him to his carriage and embraced King Nicholas, who spent'the day at the palace, and received the Allied Ambassadors.
King Nicholas said ho was unwilling to leave Scutari, but his generals and his sons begged him to go. The journey to San Giovanni di Medua was made on foot, on horseback and by means of a springless cart. King Nicholas was much distressed at the death of the centenarian, Marshal Plamanatz, who was liale and hearty, but fell to the ground and died on his learning that Cettinje had surrendered.
