GOLDEN BAY A. AND P. SHOW.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

The Golden Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Association's show will be held on the Recreation Ground at Takaka on Tuesday, February Ist. . The holding of the show on one day and the races the day following makes a fine double-bill attraction, and this year both days promise great things. Tho very wet and cold (spring lias interfered with the fruit and vegetable exhibits somewhat, but they are still a big class, and all other classes are well represented. Draught horses show 33; exhibits, light horsee no fewer than 81, cattle 56, sheep 86, pigs 9 and dogs 16. Other classes are well tip to the average. This year the chopping has been struck.out, and a tug-of-war for teams of six men substituted. There are known to be about five local teams, and others from, outside already are expected. Among the many side shows there are to be some of more than average interest. Mr H. It. ■'Spittnl; who recently, discovered a nearly perfect ■ skeleton of a gigantic moa in a cave on his own run at Upper Takaka, has undertaken,to' exhibit-■ this on- fchow day, air receipts;., from this source to go to the Sick and Wounded Soldiers' Fund Corporal Ken Baird ("Main Body), who was in the famous landing at Gallipoli and hung on there for months in the trenches, has recently been invalided home, and has brought with him n fine collection of relics from the battlefields of Gnllipoli. which he has kindly consented to exhibit, also for a patriotic fund.
