FARMERS AWARDED ADDITIONAL

COMPENSATION

The Commission has awarded .the farmers an extra 3d a bushel above the price fixed for wheat under the Acquisition Act where losses have been incurred thereby.

T!ip Hon. i>. R. Hall states that the possible loss on the wheat transactions was £10,000 in Victoria, £80,000 in Queensland, £30,000 in South' Australia, and £30,000 in Tasmania. Western Australia also suffered heavy losses.,
