COMPULSION BILL IN THE HOUSE OF LORDS,

A small force of Montenegrins and Serbians fought a desperate battle near Podgoritza, holding up two Austrian divisions and delaying the advance to Scutari. The Austrians have occupied San Giovanni di Medua, on the Albanian coast. Major-General Tbwnshend reports that his troops have not been further engaged in Mesopotamia He has sufficient supplies. The Russians continue to make progress in the Caucasus- The House of Lords carried the second reading of the Military Service Bill.
